*New Single
It seems like only yesterday that we put out "Beg" but like most muso type people we get bored easily & when we get bored we write & record new songs. The new track is called "Memento".
Recorded and produced by Sailmaker @ SMHQ (stu stu studios) & mixed by the lovely Mr. Paul Mckercher, it's a 2 minute something indie rock tune that showcases a bit of a livelier side to Sailmaker (we still can't believe Joel actually used a distortion pedal on this track and live he turns his amp up to like 3, or even 4!)
Memento is available as a digital only single (with a couple of acoustic b sides) on the 5th of February and is a lead up to our next EP in the Trilogy 'Borrow' which is in the works as you read.
*Single Launch Tour
To kick off the year & launch Memento we're doing a short run of dates in NSW & VIC. Nothing to nuts, just easing ourselves back into gig mode in true "hey hey hey, let's not over exert ourselves" Sailmaker style.

Right smack bang in the middle of those dates we're also squeezing a Spectrum show in with everybody’s new favorite buzz band, Young Heretics. It's going to be at Spectrum on the 6th of Feb. See them up close before you have to lie to tell people you saw them up close.

Well it's that time of year again. A time to celebrate how great Australians are & how lucky we are to live in this "great southern land'? No! It's the time when a million people pester the shit out of you to vote for their crappy band in the in the hottest 100! To dare not to be different we're kindly asking you to do the same & please vote for our track "Branches" in this year’s poll. Just click the link below and we're in the drop down list.
In conjunction with triple J, Big Tree Artists & the Bald Faced Stagg Hotel we're going to be playing at an official triple J hottest 100 listening/Australia Day party. Joined by only the sea slugs, the vignettes & heaps more it's going to be quite the party, everybody loves parties, you should come.
*Blood Sweat and Beers
As you may imagine, Blood & Sweat aren’t really 2 adjectives that spring to mind when thinking of Sailmaker but beers on the other hand.....
Blood Sweat and Beers returns bigger and better to the Annandale Hotel on January 30th 2010 for a day of rock ‘n’ roll in all it’s various shapes and sizes.
With back to back stages inside and mellowing acoustic tunes outside, you shall be provided with the best in Rock, Folk, Punk, Ska and everything a good festival should have…
We'll be playing outside on the Chill/Acoustic stage mid afternoon sometime and are really looking forward to drinking and playing in the sun.

Heya,
Just a quick update to let you all know what's going on in the land of Sailmaker.
Seems as though Sydney bands are going to be taking over Melbourne town this weekend. Not only will we be playing a couple of shows (Friday @ Ding Dong + Saturday @ WOW night club) but a whole bunch of our mates bands including Grand Fatal, LUNGS, The Optionals & Hell City Glamours have all got gigs in Melbs this weekend. Couple that with the fact that about half a Virgin Blue 737 worth of our mates are coming down for the shows it's shaping up as a pretty good weekend for all involved. Can any say after party???
In other news our brand new ep "BEG" will be in stores on the 24th of September and to celebrate the lovely people at KREW (word up Stokes) have decided to be nice enough to give one lucky person a clothing pack worth over $400!
